Los Angeles police investigating Cosby abuse claim

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police opened an investigation on Friday into a woman's claims that Bill Cosby molested her when she was 15 years old, a department spokeswoman said. The investigation was opened after Judy Huth, who is suing Cosby for sexual battery, met with Los Angeles police detectives for 90 minutes. Los Angeles Police Officer Jane Kim said the department opened its investigation after the meeting. Huth's civil suit claims Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was underage. Attorney Gloria Allred said Judy Huth met with two special victim unit detectives Friday, three days after her lawsuit was filed. Huth did not take questions during a news conference, but Allred said she was hoping detectives would open an investigation into Cosby's action. Police did not give any additional details about the investigation. Police Chief Charlie Beck on Thursday urged potential victims of sex abuse by Cosby to speak with detectives, regardless of whether their claims were outside the statute of limitations. Allred refused to comment on Huth's lawsuit, which was filed by a different firm. Cosby's attorney, Martin Singer, accused Huth and another lawyer of extortion and said she attempted to sell her story to a tabloid a decade earlier.

Singer's filing state the other attorney, Marc Strecker, first demanded $100,000 for Huth to remain silent, then raised the demand to $250,000 as more women came forward accusing Cosby of sexual misconduct. Cosby has been accused by more than 15 women in recent weeks of sexual misconduct, ranging from incidents of groping to incidents of drugging and raping. He has never been charged with a crime, and his attorneys have denied many of the allegations. Work crews on Friday were forced to clean up Cosby's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after someone wrote "Rapist" on it three times. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which manages the stars embedded in several sidewalks in Hollywood, wrote in a statement that the stars were intended to celebrate the positive contributions of its inductees. "When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California state landmark," the chamber wrote in a statement. Cosby received his star in 1977. It's placed near the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and North Highland Avenue. Also on Friday, a woman who claims Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1979 told her story in interviews with CNN and The Associated Press and said she wanted to help stop the comedian from abusing others. P.J. Masten said in an interview with CNN that she woke up naked and bruised in a bed with Cosby in Chicago after he gave her an alcoholic drink and that she believes she was raped. ___

Death of Telemundo Star Monica Spear

Telenovela actress Monica Spear has been killed. Variety is reporting that the "Pasion Probihida" actress was shot and killed with her ex-husband, Thomas Henry Berry, during a highway robbery in Venezuela. Like Us on Facebook Spear was on vacation with her husband and daughter in Venezuela when they were both killed after their car broke down. The actress was 29 years old. According to local authorities, the couple was in a small accident on the Valencia-Puerto Cabello highway. The accident left them stranded in their vehicle and later armed men approached the car and the couple locked themselves inside. The assailants then decided to opened fire, injuring the child and killing the parents. Telemundo, a company she did two soap operas for, said, "We are deeply saddened by the horrible crime that affected the beloved actress Monica Spear and her family. Monica was not only a great professional as we saw in the two novelas she worked with us - but also an excellent person, always enthusiastic, full of strength and determination. We wish a quick recovery to her daughter and send our deepest condolences to her family." Spear's co-star Jen-Carlo Canela was shocked by the news and wrote on Twitter, "I'm without words. I will miss my friend @MonicaSpear." Spear had been seen in "La Mujer Perfecta" and "Mi Prima Ciela," and "Flor Salvaje." She first came to fame after winning the Miss Venezuela pageant in 2004. She later competed at the Miss Universe 2005 pageant where she placed fourth runner-up.

Paul Walker ‘Fast & Furious 7’ Character Doesn’t Die; Revealing New Death Crash Autopsy

They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that's when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody. They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on.” According to new rumors, they are going to need someone to fill in for Walker to get his character out of the film alive. The producers have decided to spare Walker’s character a tragic end, according to OK! Magazine: “The producers were certain they wanted to complete the film, but were not so sure how to deal with the elimination of Paul’s character, undercover agent Brian O’Conner. Now comes word the the screenwriters will have O'Connor retire in the film, rather than kill off the character.” Maybe he’ll even be in Fast and Furious 8.
